Study what makes a “great” Linkedin Profile Picture (see photos on website) -
Take a moment to study the images on my website. You may notice that intangible sense that the person staring back at you is friendly. Note the slight upturn of the corners of the mouth - that twinkle in they eye -(no furrowed brows or defensive posture here) just warm, welcoming expressions. Posture - the person is leaning in to listen, to focus completely on the viewer as the most important person in the world. These moments take time to capture in a still image. When a person walks into my residential studio, they immediately feel “at home”. We are not rushed, we get to know each other, discuss the best clothing choices from the selection you brought. It depends. A smile is appealing and will invite people to get to know you. I always ask your profession to find out if a smile is appropriate. If your career has a more serious tone you may want to reflect that in your mood.

During our 30-minute session we can try a few color choices. You may want to match your branding colors of your logo or website.

Consider your pose before your photo shoot by looking at sample images. Lean on your knee or hand? Arms folded? Hand and arm positions - integrate near face? Happy or serious?

Necklaces shouldn’t touch neckline (either above or below). Decide if you want to wear a watch in your photo. Pre-plan the jewelry you want to wear with each outfit.

V-neck vs. scoop neck - V-necks are more slenderizing than scoop-necks. Try on clothing prior to photo shoot to select clothing that enhances your face.

Read this blog “Choosing the best color to wear for headshots”for tips on color. I recommend a white shirt / top to brighten eyes and teeth, or a vibrant color like yellow, red, teal are always good choices.
